About me:
1) I'm doing a MA in English and French Literature and Language.
2) I've taught Italian at university in Ireland as part of an internship project and really loved it - I just wish I had more time to explore such a beautiful country.
3) My deep curiosity has made me a jack-of-all-trades: though writing is my main hobby, I tried my luck with clay sculpting, shirt illustration, archery, and took violin lessons in the past. I'm currently studying privately as a tenor during summer holidays.
4) I tend to know a bit about everything of everyone - including weird facts.
5) I started writing and drawing since I was but a child.
6) I am a quick thinker, and on a good day, I can munch 200 pages in a row.
7) I read a lot, and I like to collect old or unusual books.
8) I use a fountain pen whenever I write on paper, even if it's just note-taking.
9) I love to send my friends some good, old-fashioned letters, and I keep a whole writing set for that.
10) I have a passion for tea, pocket watches, fountain pens, calligraphy, and cats.
11) I am quite knowledgeable when it comes to Gothic Literature, Victorian-era short stories, and vampires.
12) I am a pipe smoker and I enjoy to play chess - possibly combine the two.
13) I have 'Napoleonic' traits: pale skin, dark hair and eyes, kinda petite (but not as much as you'd think), and a strong personality.

Napoleone Bonaparte (for obvious, reasons... see above

2) Favourite fictional character?
As I've read quite a lot & continue to do so, it would be restrictive to name just one... But I'll settle for Frankenstein's monster (oh I wish he had a name - he certainly deserved one) for the purposes of this questionnaire.
3) Why are you replying to this Question Challenge?
Because it helps me kill time I am currently unable to invest better, because I want to prove the friend who tagged me that I actually enjoy silly activities like this
, and besides, because it's just as good an excuse as another to tell people a little bit more about myself.
4) Which was the worst trip you have ever done?
It was when I went to the Isole Tremiti (a group of islands north the coast of Apulia) with my family, about a year ago. We wanted to try something new, so we chose to arrive there by helicopter. It was an amazing experience, and I really enjoyed my stay there, so destiny decided to balance such a pleasure in one way or another - that's why I soon found myself next to an old man whose personal 'aroma' had tainted the air of the whole cabin on our way home.
5) Do you believe in fate?
6) Art can help to ruin the world (3rd Reich. Propaganda). Why man has the passion to ruin the art, in your opinion?
Because sometimes (most of the time, actually), he thinks art can be bent to other, unproper or unethical purposes - I firmly believe in Wilde's 'art for art's sake' principle.
7) The strangest thing that happened to you
Being obsessively asked out by a girl I had just barely looked at in one poetry competition, being mistaken for a high school teen before I decided to grow a moustache, being mistaken for a PhD student while I was 22 and sitting in the back of the room doodling during a lecture because I actually knew how to read Dante, being periodically greeted by complete strangers... Take your pick: I could go on and on.
8) Plans for the future?
Get my MA, go for a PhD, start publishing my scribblings, manage to set my foot into the job of literary translation, having a stable relationship with either a girl or my ego, maybe spend my time in more remunerative ways other than lurking around this site and writing decent pieces no one would pay a penny for... You choose in which order.
9) Favourite book genre?
17th century French libertine literature, 19th century gothic and mystery fiction, 'contemporary' classics from the likes of Proust to Mishima.
10) Do you play an instrument?
I used to play the violin, then my own voice... Damn university screwed it all. But I am still rather good at making a variety of noises to get the attention of people on my not-so-imposing figure.
11) The worst film that you have ever seen
A D grade, self-produced 'film' where one man was knocked down by a gun literally 'rubbed' on his face.
12) Do you like movies with a lot of CGI/VFX? If so, what is your favorite?
I am generally not fond of 'whoa'-special-effects productions, though I like the X-Men series and The Lord of The Rings because I'm emotionally attached to them.
13) If you believe in fate: do you like your fate or are you fighting with it? If you do not believe in fate answer "i'm free!"
I've lately come to the conclusion that perhaps my fate and I tolerate each other, from time to time.

I believe in man's ability to shape his own fate. Still, there are some things we cannot influence, and life tends at times to have a really black sense of humour, like in the situation reported above.

Everything can make the world a better place. Depends on the way you use that thing. Art means to me a way to tell stories.

My favourites are visual arts. But i prefer creative writing.
